    Germany makes good beer?
seriously there’s one German beer I really like and that’s Erdinger
Furthermore stick to beer from the country of beer, check your local supermarket for Duvel or Chimay (the two most common special beers from Belgium) Or you can never go wrong with Stella Artois.

Your right. Good beers come from Germany.
If you wanna have a REAL beer, try Duckstein.
Once you’ve tried it, you’ll know that other beers are not real beers.
I’m not talking from my personal taste, but also the Germans said so. Juz google it when you wanna know where to buy it (also online). There are many reports and rating bout Duckstein, and people who have tried it always gave 5 stars!! Juz prove it yourself!
    Cheers ;-)

Actually Heineken is from the Netherlands, NOT Germany, as is another excelent European beer, “Amstel.”

Denmark makes some quite excellent beers as well, Tuberg and Carlsberg.

From Britain come some really exceptional “ales” like Newcastle and McEwan’s Scotch Ale and India Pale Ale.

Traditionally the best beers in Europe (and the world) have come from the tiny Czech Republic, they have over the years at international competitions won more first prizes than any other country! They have been brewing beer for almost a millenium, the two cities most associated with Czech beer, Plzeň and České Budějovice (Pilsen and Budweis in German), have given their names to two of the best known (and world famous) styles of light Lager beer, “Pilsner” and “Budweiser.”

The best known brands of Czech beer are: Pilsner Urquell, Gambrinus, BrouCzech, Breznice, Herold, Velkopopovicky Kozel, Branik, Ostravar, Nektar, Strakonicky Dudak and about a gazillion others…..

The Czech style of beer making has been one of the most copied styles in the world, especially in Germany, Poland and Eastern Europe as well as Canada (Pilsner), USA (Budweiser) and Mexico (Bohemia)

Throw a rock in a good bottleshop. If it hits a bottle from Germany, it’s a clear chance of being better than the boring crap called “beer” in the US. Yes, I know y’all got some really good microbreweries, but Bud? Please!

Also, try Czech, Danish, Belgian, Croatian or good old Guinness.

From the UK: Bellhaven Scottish Ale, Fuller’s Vintage Ale, Thomas Hardy Ale, Traquair House Ale.

Germany: Aecht Schlenkerla Rauchbier, EKU 28, Weihenstephaner.

Belgium: Chimay, Anything from Cantillon, Anything from Fantome.

Beers like Stella, Heineken, Becks, are generally laughed at over there. These beers are drank by amateurs who would rather get drunk cheap than spend money on good beers.

Kostritzer Schwarzbier is an excellent mid alcohol dark from Germany. A higher % beer that is also excellent is Spaten Optimator.

During the winter I also will shell out the extra for just a single bottle of Samiclaus (unsure of spelling on this one). It is only brewed on Dec 6 each year and is a nice change of flavour for the holiday season.

I refer you to john cleese’s revocation speech regarding American beer. Well worth looking up for any americans with a sense of humour and the rest of the world!!

‘ The cold tasteless stuff you insist on calling “beer” is not actually beer at all, it is lager . From November 1st only proper British Bitter will be referred to as “beer,” and European brews of known and accepted provenance will be referred to as “Lager.” The substances formerly known as “American Beer” will henceforth be referred to as “Near-Frozen Gnat’s Urine,” with the exception of the product of the American Budweiser company whose product will be referred to as “Weak Near-Frozen Gnat’s Urine.” This will allow true Budweiser (as manufactured for the last 1000 years in the Czech Republic) to be sold without risk of confusion.’

Dinkel Acker Pils, would be best if you could find a bar or pub with it on tap. It comes in green bottles, green and clear bottles allow too much light in which cause beer to taste and smell skunky. Try this with any beer that comes in green or clear bottles, tastes totally different if you can find in in a can or on tap.
