Before they were soldiers Part 3 of 12 (Army Sgt. Dimitri Muscat)

Posted on 29. Jul, 2010 by admin in White Wine

They were called to serve. Young Americans with bright visions of the future left family and friends for a distant battlefield. But bullets and roadside bombs do not spare the dreamers. This Memorial Day, thousands will remember loved ones who gave their lives in battle. Photographer Lyn Alweis visited the families of 12 servicemen who were killed in Iraq and Afghanistan, and captured their memories in video and photographs.

I will never forget Dimitri, and doubt that any of the men that knew him will. He had 100 brothers and died for the greatest form of government in the world. To say that he will be forgotten is one of the most ignorant things I’ve ever seen posted.

In war, there are no victorious, there are only defeated. In any war, losses touch both fighting sides. This has been for ages. I am really sorry for these soldiers, b/c like many others they have been following the commands. But you can do thing to avoid this and if a relative of you is in war and sth happens to him, you can do nothing more than suck it up.
